Danya Uriel and Eyal Rivlin are dedicated to revitalizing Hebrew chanting as a form of meditation and ecstatic prayer on the path of the heart. They create and share their music in the service of inspiration, community building, and devotion. Drawing on the power of the repetition of ancient sacred phrases, they use Hebrew chants to create an experiential connection to the One.
Danya Uriel:
Reportedly found singing to her "angel friends" at the ripe old age of two, Danya grew up surrounded by her musical family in the mountains of Colorado... With nature as her constant muse, she has been composing devotional music for as long as she can remember. At 18, a ravenous desire to learn and travel drew her away from home to receive her degree from Wellesley College in Massachusetts, to spend a year studying Hebrew in Jerusalem, to live in the wild jungles of Mexico and then to work with young children in the inner cities of California. Ultimately however, the siren song of her Rocky Mountains proved too compelling to resist. Now making her home in beautiful Boulder, Danya finds deep fulfillment in composing and sharing original Hebrew chants, wrestling with and revitalizing the ancient texts of her ancestors and above all else, offering herself each day in the service of true LOVE.
Eyal Rivlin:
Though born in the blistering heat of Israel's Jordan Valley, Eyal Rivlin's heart seems to spring from Renaissance Europe... His passion for celebrating music, dance, science, and spiritual growth led him from the Tel Aviv music scene on a pilgrimage of discovery through Europe and India to the United States, and a Master's Degree in Transpersonal Psychology. For years, Eyal played hide-and-seek with God, until finally learning to surrender to the Divine sound of each moment. Now, happily centered in Boulder Colorado, Eyal inspires joy through performing teaching and facilitating musical events, playing with world fusion ensembles, and leading evenings of ecstatic song and dance.
