Great

Not my favorite prenatal class; I found that there are very few modifications offered and that a lot of time is spent on the wrists, with balancing poses such as one-legged downward dog that are difficult to do in the third trimester. I have carpal tunnel syndrome during my pregnancy and I found it frustrating to wait out a lot of postures.

Liked it, but is more for a third trimester or really uncomfortable mamma - a little too slow and overly modified for regular yogis in their second trimester.

Great class for the third trimester. A little slow for seasoned practitioners earlier on. But it felt great at 39 weeks!

Hands down my favorite prenatal class on yogadownload.com. I m 23 weeks, and have been doing yoga for 4 years. Before becoming pregnant my favorite classes were vinyasa and power yoga, with lots of movement, heat build-up, and strengthening. This class was perfect. My body actually felt ready to take on each pose - the flow felt good and right (unlike some other classes where I have felt, recently, that the instructor is throwing you into a pose just because). Good amount of flow without feeling rushed, so you can really get into each pose. Modifications are easily accessible to lighten up the practice, or make it more challenging. Long savasanna at the end which I m not normally a huge fan of, but I was so happy with the rest of the practice that I really didn t mind by the time we got there. I will be downloading this one, and will continue to do it until the end of my pregnancy. Thank you Mika and yogadownload!

A little too slow for my taste, with not enough strengthening exercises.

I really liked this class. I was practicing yoga before pregnancy and have been in prenatal classes for 2 months now. At 26 weeks I m both looking for a challenge in my practice and some relief as I grow larger. This was a perfect balance of the two, which made me work without pushing hard than I was comfortable doing. I really like her comforting tone of voice as well.

At 31 weeks, I am starting to really feel back pain and some wrist pain (carpel tunnel). This class was so soothing and restorative in a meditative flowing manner. I feel more open, stretched, and calm. This flow did not make me sweat, though it did encourage wonderful breathing and opening in the hips, shoulders, and side body. One helpful tip for those also suffering from wrist pain is to place your blocks with the long edge parallel to your mat and put your hands on top of the blocks for poses like down dog. It takes some of the pressure off your wrists and still makes down dog and chatturanga accessible. Lovely class!

Glad it came with a video because there were a few positions where I could not get by on just the verbal instruction.. All in all great class.. I m 8 months pregnant and found all positions very doable and felt great afterwards.

I have been doing this class all through my pregnancy and have gotten so much out of it at all stages. I am now 34 weeks pregnant and this class is one of my favorites. Really like the flow and pace as well as the instruction throughout the video. Thanks for a fantastic class!

Excellent prenatal class. I really enjoyed the modified vinyasa flows and the teacher was great. I will do this class again and again throughout pregnancy.

This class was quite easy/slow for me, which might be because I m early on (11 weeks) or because I m more of an advanced practitioner. I modified to make it a bit more challenging - less use of blocks/knees - and it was a good targeted safe stretch for various areas that needed it. Not much of a workout, but i could imagine it could become so further along in the pregnancy. All in all a well-thought out class, probably more targeted to the advanced beginner/intermediate practitioner, or the later stages of pregnancy.

I m 16 weeks 4 days and found this yoga practice to work for me. I had to modify to make things more to my practice prior to pregnancy just because I am not showing much as of yet, but it was easier to modify that way than to modify with pregnancy for other classes! The flow at times felt a little slow, but in reality it actually worked out better because it reminded me that I haven t worked my muscles the same in quite some time.
Thank you for the great practice :)

This is the prenatal yoga video I have been searching for for years. It is perfect for experienced yoginis, in that it suits a higher level of body awareness yet respects the ever changing pregnant body. Thank you so much for this class.

Hi Meg,
Thanks for your feedback. As a current prenatal practitioner myself, I understand your frustration and apologize if I wasn t able to offer you the kind of modifications you needed during the portion of the standing and balancing series. In general, whenever something doesn t feel right or appropriate for your body, it s always best to plant both feet on the floor, take a modified forward bend with hands on the blocks or take yourself to a wall and practice Warrior III or Half Moon with the support of the wall behind you. Please let me know if you have any other questions regarding modifications and I d be happy to insert written cues here.

Its an OK class. and a nice break from the Jennifer Lutz/Liza Jannd prenatal courses (I m 8 months pregnant and do yoga 5 times a week, so I was getting a little tired of the same classes).
The instructor does not give any modifications for the standing splits/half moon portion of the class (around the 32 minute mark), I found this frustrating, as I cannot balance in these positions anymore and was more distracted about what to do instead rather than staying in the practice. Prenatal instructors should know that these one legged poses are not only harder for pregnant women s balance, but cause a lot of falls, and should at least offer alternatives.
