Dear YogaDownload Students! You inspire me. It really takes something to cultivate a home practice. My hope is that you will explore the many incredible offerings from this community. I believe that the practice of yoga is truly for everyone. Even if you find yourself challenged or uncertain, consider the possibility that you are right where you belong and that the discomfort is an agent of support and growth. Whatever you hope to accomplish, it is my desire to serve you. With love and kindness, Ellen
What are some other passions in your life that give you purpose and benefit your well-being?
One of my great loves is musical theater. There is something indescribably special about using story, song, and dance to create a whole world for an hour or so. Theater taught me discipline, practice, vulnerability, trust, and courage. It demands presence and the willingness to do something each time as if it was the first time. I come to my yoga practice with the same spirit I come to the stage- meaning I strive to be authentic, connected and to bring my very best. Although performing is no longer the centerpiece of my life, I am grateful to perform on occasion in Denver with talented and inspired individuals.
What are your favorite places in the world. What do you love about them?
Each time I read and reread this question, I think of moments in time instead of places in space. Although I could tell you about my favorite places in the world, I'm inclined to tell you that one of my favorite moments in time is drinking coffee in the morning. The ritual of grinding coffee beans, the smell, boiling water, the enjoyment of choosing the right mug and the sweetness of sitting quietly next to my beloved. That moment in time each day brings me into the present moment and into a space of gratitude.
