Hello my dear YogaDownload.com students! I am honored to be one of your online yoga teachers and to be able to share my love for yoga with you. Even though we may have never met in person, I want you to know that I am rooting for you, your rise, and your growth. When you practice my classes know that I am right here with you in spirit, cheering you on from afar. I truly believe that yoga is a powerful practice that helps us feel and be our very best, and I am beyond grateful to be on this journey with you. Namaste.
What inspires your teaching?
I am continuously inspired by people and their stories. I love when people get real and talk about their struggles, how they have overcome them, and what they have learned. The more I listen to people the more I realize that we all need the healing practice of yoga to help us get through the ups and downs of life, and be the strongest versions of ourselves.
How do you bring yoga in your day to day life?
I don’t practice yoga to be good at yoga; I practice yoga to be good at life. My intentions aren’t to perfect each yoga posture, but rather to find freedom and presence so that I can be my very best off my yoga mat. I believe that the magic of yoga happens when we let go of the need to have the perfect posture, and instead align our intentions with self awareness and growth. Then, as we practice and refine the challenging postures, we simultaneously find a sense of awareness that spills over into our day-to-day lives.
Yoga has taught me so much about myself. Since I tend to overthink most everything, my time on my yoga mat is a time to gain perspective and let go of my looping thought patterns. Yoga practice gets me out of my head and into my body. As I practice yoga postures I’m also practicing clarity and presence. When I’m off my mat and I catch myself in a mental whirlwind, I do my best to remember my yoga lessons and not let my thoughts carry me away.
How do you think can yoga help our world?
Practicing yoga gives us an opportunity to slow down and really have a good look at ourselves. It allows us time to reflect on our own stories, patterns, shadows, and self-talk so that we can find more inner freedom, shrink our ego voice, and be the best people we can be. If that can’t help the world, I’m not sure what can.
What are some other things that give you purpose and benefit your well-being?
I believe in living life to the fullest, getting outside as much as possible, eating chocolate every day, sharing, and being kind. My purpose is my family and sharing the gift of yoga.
