is based around an amazing instrument called a “HANG” Produced in Switzerland for only a few years. The “Hang” combines elements of both Gamelan Gongs and Steel Drums. The Instruments come in a series of scales that produce rich and vibrant tones. Keyboardist, Producer, & Writer Mark Rechler and Percussionist/Drummer George Hooks create layered loops with the hang as a framework for the songs on they created. For further directions they worked with Yoga instructors to fully understand the requirements and flow of an inspiring Yoga class. Using that information to create things such as the tempo, intensity & timing to build the perfect peaks and valleys of a Yoga class.
Soma Diploma explores a different part of the galaxy, crossing Indian and Asian influences with electronica and ambient textures. Soma is the moon God, A Sacred ancient Drink of the Gods, and also referenced in Aldus Huxley’s Brave New World as a drug which puts one in the state of Ecstasy. Soma Diploma starts in a meditational state and gets downright kicking at times and is unafraid to explore darker territories.Soma Diploma was designed so it can be used with Yoga Flow class, Meditational workouts including higher aerobic activity (dancing,running, biking) which reflects musically.
