Argie Ligeros Tang
Argie Ligeros Tang is a former AAU champion gymnast. A native Coloradan, she loves skiing, cycling, hiking and golf.
A fascination with the possibilities of physical transformation and personal evolution has inspired her intense yoga practice for 30 years. She has learned from some of the great masters and has studied myriad yoga styles. Argie opened the first Yoga College of India for Bikram Choudrury in 1978. She has taught over 15,000 yoga classes and has developed yoga programs for schools, corporations, hospitals and television.
After 15 years of practicing yoga, Argie became certified as a fitness instructor at The University of California Los Angles and began applying yoga principles and postures to athletic training programs. She developed a fitness system called “Yoga for Athletes” which she has taught to a range of athletes from the elite level Olympian to the recreational weekend warrior.
Since 1995, she has further developed Yoga for Athletes, opened a fitness studio in Vail, conducted teacher training programs, written a book entitled “The Yoga for Athletes Fitness System and produced seven instructional video/DVDs called Cross Training with Yoga I,II, and III and a series called Pulse Yoga that enhances the benefits of yoga with micro pulsating movements and free weights.
