It has been years since I stepped a toe into a hot yoga studio. Searching for my Saturday practice for the week landed me here. This week was capped off particularly tough with the passing of #RBG last night. I love The phrase that was Spoken throughout the practice and the perfection of what that means in this time.

great hot yoga class to do in under an hour - about 50 minutes.

This is one of my favorite yoga classes. A little more accessible than a 90-minute hot yoga session and I really like her thoughts and insights about yoga practice that she shares throughout the class.

Great little class. I haven t done a full hot yoga class for a few years and this was perfect to get me into it without hating it. I ve done it a few times now and find the instructions and cues were perfect for me. I ll gradually increase the heat in my room and then when I m ready I ll progress onto the full class. I m so pleased this "buffer" is available.

If you re looking for a shorter version of the 26 postures, this is a fantastic version that feels relaxing yet familiar. The timing of postures is excellent for this length. I don t agree that the instructor feels unnatural at all, though I could see how someone unaccustomed to the 26 posture series might notice the typical style of instruction as slightly regimented.

This class doesn t feel natural for Cicily. She generally is one of my favorite instructors, but it seemed like she was trying to hard to stick with the 26 poses and they didn t come naturally to her. It was like she was trying to figure out how to cue it without using the script they use in a Bikram class. Instead of this one, take Cicily s Detox Hot Yoga Fusion class. That class borrows from the 26 but Cicily makes it her own for a great workout.

I really love this class which runs about 55 minutes! I find it a great way to start the day, and it is the perfect length.

I ve just done this class for the first time and loved it. Cicily explains each of the poses really well and has a lovely soothing voice and manner about her. I ll definitely be doing this class again and again. Thanks Cicily, namaste.

Perfect way to start the day

I like that this is basically an express version of the hot yoga sequence since we re only doing each posture once. We hit Final Savasana at about 52 minutes, so it s just over half the time of the usual 90min hot yoga session.
This session is great if you don t have the full 90 minutes to devote. You still feel it and the sweat comes if you ve heated the room to even just 90 degrees. I find that I have to put in 100% to make sure that I m getting the full benefit of the single sets of each posture.
Her instruction is great, with a few differences from the other hot yoga (ya know, the one with the name attached to it), so if you ve been practicing that yoga for any amount of time, like me, you ll definitely notice.
I do appreciate that she adds some tips/explanations for some postures as well. It s especially great if you re new to the sequence or need the refresher.
I go into "toe stand" after "tree pose" on my own since her sequence doesn t do it before the savasana before the floor series. She also skipped Savasana after two of the floor postures, where she went right into the next posture.
And for me, it drove me a little nuts see the model do "standing forehead to knee" and "standing bow" with bent knees. Maybe that s how "hot yoga" does it? Though, in "standing forehead to knee" the instructor specifically says that to move on to the next part of the posture, the standing leg must be straight and I can clearly see the model s leg is bent. "Lock your knee. Just lock your knee, " kept running thru my mind.
Otherwise, those are just a few things. I will keep practicing to it on my busier days when I can t do a full 90 minutes and the unlocked knees won t bug me when I m too busy concentrating on my posture.
