Terrific fast paced class with clear variations for beginners like me. I will come back to this after I learn how to chaturanga more smoothly.

Just absolutely fantastic. It has been over a year since I have done an hour yoga class. I was deciding between this and a fat burn focused class but this was perfect for me. I wore my heart rate monitor and I was shocked to see I was hitting 80% and overall burned 535 cal. I did swear at her a few times for all the navasanas (boat pose) but I think that s the proper reaction. Overall, this class left my muscles tired, my body stretched and my mental/emotional state totally elevated. I highly recommend.

Loved this class. I’ve taken several shortened primary ashtanga and the cuing on this one is THE BEST. Once I get the seated vinyasa down maybe I’ll take the full primary. BTW, I’m a 58 yo woman who has been doing yoga regularly for about 8 mos. So this is definitely a doable adv beginner to intermediate class.

Nice class for Day 10. I could keep up, but wanted even longer holds for the ending poses like shoulderstand... feel great after completing, thank you!

The beginning sequence of this is way too fast to keep up with. But it settles into a nice practice after you survive the first 15 minutes.

Wow that was tough and fast paced! I wasn’t fully prepared when we started. But I stayed and I’m so glad I did. I loved it. Cueing was phenomenal! Thank you!!

The surya a and b counting is too fast. I paused it and did it at my own pace and pushed it forward to the point after the suryas. Rest of the sequence is good and works well for a beginner and intermediate ashtanga learner.

I really loved this class. Having done the Primary Series for a number of years I found the 60min class a great alternative in a short amount of time. Will definitely do this one again. Thanks :)

Sometimes the difference between Yoga practice and just a workout is subtle and not easy to see, good job!

No music! Yay!! Really enjoyed this practice. I ve been trying other yoga styles and this instructor was on the home page, so I checked it out and glad I did. Wonderful movement with breath. I did feel rushed to fit 5 breaths into the dog poses. I too was left wondering if my breathing should be more quickly paced. I was behind by 1 to 1 1/2 breaths. However, my breath when flowing was matched to movement. A well rounded practice that I will do again.

I didn t have any time to finish my breath and felt I had to rush into each pose without being able to take a complete breath, felt like I was going to hyperventilate, some teachers give time to take a full inhale and others cue too fast so I m wondering if we are supposed to take quick shallow breaths or deep full ones? It makes it hard to get into a pose properly when I have to rush thru my breath ( I do lots of cardio and I m in good shape)

Challenging, but not diabolical. I worked up a little sweat. I got a little bored with all the repetition, but she does a good job offering variations.

Great workout at a nice even pace. All the essential poses to get deep in all the muscles. Loved it. Thanks, Blair!

Very nice short ashtanga sequence. It built heat and the cues for alignment were very good. I really liked the pace as many of the other ashtanga classes are taught more slowly which dissipate the heat a bit, although i wish the 5 breath holds were really five breaths instead of the 3 I was usually able to get in. Overall though, it is my favorite YDL Ashtanga so far with a good challenging core sequence. Thank you!

I thought this was a really nice classic-style hour of yoga. Would like to see more of her classes.

Interesting class, you flow through the vinyasa at a rate higher than I would normally like. Class had some very nice progressive poses, with various options. Instruction was good and clear. I will likely have this one in my library.

This is an awesome, short, quick and less intense version of the primary series. The teacher is very knowledgable and gives clear and direct cues. It got me warm. Thanks Blair.

While the sequence in this class stems from the Ashtanga primary series, it is instructed from a Power yoga standpoint, with posture names not used in the Ashtanga lineage and variations from outside of the traditional series. There are a number of more traditional Ashtanga practices available through YDL.
