Did as part of YDL 24 Day Awakening Challenge. I have done before but never did a public review. Keith is one of my favorite male instructors at YDL, calming presence, beautiful setting for class today. Although handstand will probably never be part of my practice, like the build up to it.

Thank you Keith! I love how you pace this class and introduce forearm stand in a safe and approachable way. Love the scenery and background river sound also. Really enjoyed this!

I really enjoyed this class. Keith always makes me feel the mat is the only place to be with his calm voice and carefull teaching. I was surprised by the forearm stand and very glad of the dolphin alternative as I don t feel able to go for forearm stand without someone beside me. Loved the pranayama and short meditation at the end and of course the river sounds! Thank you

i was attracted to this class because I was feeling a little tightness from a shoulder/back routine the day before. I almost always go for Adv. Beginner because I am not the most consistent of yogi s and my shoulders/heart as well as my hamstrings are usually tight.
Positives: I feel great after doing this class. I did get the heart and should opening that I came here for. The pace began slow and gentle, quickly ramping it up with some planks, knees to the chest. and he also opens the outside of the hips nicely. His voice is calm and soothing, with the river in the background as a nice setting to overhear. I felt challenged by this practice, stronger after and open throughout my chest, back and hips.
Negatives: The shoulder stand really threw me for a loop. Also, if the class says no props, most usually I have my strap put away and far away from reach, I generally have a blanket nearby (bad knees) but I usually don t have a block nearby either. If you are on the tighter side, yes, you definitely need props for this, a blanket for the shoulder stand, blocks for the hamstring stretch and he even suggests a strap while in cow face/eagle! I was a little frustrated that I had to stop several times to set up my situation and break the yogic trance I was in due to his soothing voice.Someone who hasn t been doing yoga for as long might hurt themselves figuring out camel/cowface/shoulder-stand without the aid of such props-- just to warn you. Minor inconvenience in this day and age, I am grateful to be physically able to do this practice even if it meant no shoulder stand today.
By and by, a great class, I only knocked off the star because I can t do 1/2 stars and that is due to the mis-classification of the props.

I had blocks ready, and was able to do pincha at the wall. Lovely practice. The babbling brook in the background was a great auditory cue for the oceanic oo-jhei (sp?) breathing.

What a lovely setting, Nice slower class but definitely felt the effects of the shoulder opening. Will save this one for sure. Thank you Keith!

Day 12 of yoga challenge. This was a nice class. I did receive nice upper body opening and I loved the pranayama and meditation to close. As for the challenge I miss the 50-70 minute classes

In this class, Keith offered calm, reassuring guidance through all the poses. I liked the setting near the running stream. Made the practice even more enjoyable. Keith s emphasis on breath technique is key to maintaining focus. This was not my first class with Keith. He is a really good instructor and I will look for other classes that he leads.

The after effects are a kind of floaty sensation from removing all the muscle tension in the head and neck. Thank you!

Keith, I love all your classes, especially that you are focused on making shapes and holding poses for a long time instead of speed. This new class was great after a long day sitting at my computer. Thanks for all you offer on Yoga Download.

Really nice class. This class is shorter then most other classes I follow, but it still offers you plenty of challenge. I usually like to work a lot on my shoulders and hamstrings and this class gives me exactly that with some twists on top. I will definitely take this class again.

A slower-paced but intense practice. Will be coming back to it to work on my forearm stand. Love Keith s calm demeanor.

What a gift to have the sound of flowing water in the background instead of the usual YogaDownload elevator music! The practice is a bit easier than Intermediate, more love (as the title says) than anything else.

A nice class. The slower pace is a change from what I usually do, but I enjoyed it.
That said, this really should be preceded by some type of warm-up. It s not built into the class, so I suggest doing this routine after some cardio or other type of exercise.
