There are a lot of twists in this class, of course. The difference from other Detox Yoga class is that this class focus on digestive system. So, there is a core work. I like this slow pace and relaxing practice. Thank you.

So glad I decided to revisit an older class. This is one of those keepers. I hope YogaDownload will include these older classes in their new functionality so that we can enjoy the class and not have to put up with the annoying soundtrack.

What an outstanding class! I feel lighter, more limber and more connected to my body. This is going into my regular rotation.

A quick and easy class to soothe and breathe. I feel lighter and more relaxed afterwards. Thank you! Namaste!

Wow I really enjoyed this class! Very good cuing and lots of different poses rather than the same sun salutations over and over. I will definitely come back to this class.

I keep coming back to this class. It s not a heavy sweaty class, quite frankly it attracts me, who is a yin/gentle/rejuvenating yoga lover. But still it is working on detox - as some people wouldn t think with this pace.
While taking the class, right after and the day after I feel great! It works wonders on the lymphatic system, a lot of twists "wring out the tissue" and let the breath flow deeper into parts of the lungs, that doesn t seem to have seen so much fresh air in a long time... Breath is one of our keys for balancing alkalines and acids in our system. The class opens a lot of joints, especially the hips. On top of that it allows to let go of emotions and mental distress. It s truly a holistic detox program. The day after I feel my muscles in a good way: Not hurting, but toned. Not many classes have that kind of effect on me. Thank you!

This was a wonderful class. My body and mind feel much more settled. I did find the ab exercise directions slightly confusing without looking at the screen, otherwise directions were excellent. Thank you!

Really enjoyed this session today. Absolutely what my body needed after a week away from practice and an indulgent weekend. Great body and breath cues. Options available throughout. Lots of twisting, compressing and open mouth breathing to thoroughly detox. Thank you.

Loved it! Great instructions and a nice slow pace.

Not an intermediate and I am so glad. Coming off an injury I have been avoiding intermediate classes. I am glad after reading reviews I did this one. It was exactly what I have been wanting to open up my hips, back and legs. Not too little, not too much enough to get me open and get through the day. I will be coming back to this one for sure!

Loved this Detox yoga. Perfect for my tight hips.. Great stretches to stimulate the lymphatics. Thank you for a great class, Jo!

This is a slower flow that is definitely not at an intermediate level. This class is appropriate for all levels, including beginners. A decent class with some twisting and pigeon variations. Honestly, I was a little bored with this class, but it served its purpose.

I liked everything about this class. The sequence was great. I thought the teacher had a great theme and intention but could have connected a little more (but its hard to do when you are being recorded).

Good class and instructor, but its more of a beginners class, still enjoyed it though.

This was a great practice. There are a lot of twists, and THREE separate pigeon poses! Ahhh! You ll love that if you love a good hip opener, or fair warning if you don t.

Nice easy to follow stretches/moves. Good for at the end of the day.

If you re having an ick/low energy day, this is an amazing practice. Slow and steady, stretching your hips, thighs, shoulders, and chest...it hits everything. And there s even a bit of core thrown in at the beginning. You ll feel so much better for doing it!!

Great class - not too many standing postures so it wasn t too difficult. Flowed really well and instructions were easy to follow. Perfect length for what it was too.

This class is excellent! I took it on the first day of a juice cleanse and it helped really open and energise my body and mind. I felt really grounded and ready to take on the rest of the day. Will return to again and again - thanks for such an awesome and comprehensive class and cleanse resource!

Awesome class! No its not the most advanced course, but definitely has intermediate stretches with beginner options. Great for after work when you know you need to move, but not up for an intense sweat. I really felt relaxed and rejuvenated and detoxed after.

I love this practice! I have a lot of digestive troubles and really feel this practice has helped. It is both challenging and relaxing. Love all the pigeon poses. Thanks!

Very good and clear directions without extra talking. This was a good middle technique video which I think almost every level of student could gain something from. It is relaxing and certainly was a pleasant way for me to end my day.
The flow was good, directions easy to follow. Each asana was demonstrated at two levels of difficulty.

This is more of a beginner class, in my experience. Nicely done, but would have liked more of a workout. Liked all the modifications and nice flow.

Nice class. Great beginners class. Excellent instructions. Nice warm up or early morning yoga fix. Definitely worth keeping.

Really different but great! Twists galore, and floor work interspersed with standing poses. Not sure it s really intermediate, I think a beginner could follow too. I feel cleansed!

Loved this class. A great workout for a fan of pigeon. I was able to do the entire workout and liked the pace.
By canadacole | Friday, April 4, 2014
Really enjoyed this gentle yet serious class. The flow was very natural to me and the instructor was easy to follow. None of the asanas were especially challenging, but I still felt it some in my abs the next day. I felt it was just right for me at this time.
One tiny quibble, I did find the music during savasana to be unduly loud, especially compared to the rest of the class. Otherwise a fantastic class.

Very mellow class, but I was quite hungover today and it was exactly what I needed. I feel a lot better! I don t think I would re-do this one feeling good though, it wouldn t be challenging enough, physically or mentally.

Love! I need to remember to work this in my routine at least once per week.

Yea, I don t know about the 80% thing either, but I do feel energized and strong, an hour after the class. I loved all the hip openers, but could have used more hamstring stretches.

Jo Schaalman is great! Her flow is so intuitive, I felt my body naturally moving from each position. Thanks so much for the awesome detox Jo! I ll be back for more.

Great post holiday detox workout!
By Leila | Saturday, December 21, 2013
Nice class although I find it disturbing when a class starts with a sales pitch (in this case for a book). Can t that just be put in an ad somewhere in the site instead of being incorporated in the class?
The transitions between some of the poses I found to be a little awkward, stagnating the flow unnecessarily, but overall a balanced short class.

I liked the flow, twists & pigeon variations. It was nice that modifications were shown. Feeling great!

I loved all of the twists and pigeon variations! This class left me feeling more open and well-balanced. Good amount of instruction and cues without being distracting - highly recommend!

I liked this class, but does it bother anyone else that she misinforms you by stating that we use 80% of our energy digesting food? It s really more like 10%-20%.
Think about it, if someone ate 2,000 calories, 80% of that would be 1,600... just spent digesting, with 400 calories left over for every other body function. That s ridiculous. My point is that it makes me question the accuracy of everything else she said.
That aside... it was a good class.

Great for a morning practice. Left me feeling rejuvenated, more mindful and grounded for the day. Thanks!
By nicole | Monday, July 29, 2013
I loved all the pigeon poses and twisting this class offers, definitely works the digestive system! She gives you options a lot of the time to make a pose "easier" or "harder" which I always think is a good idea, especially if you don t have a teacher around.

really liked all the twists and hip opening poses in this simple, focused class; the slow pace allows for deeper breathing and concentration on the intention of the practice. thank you, Jo!
