Good class
I m a power vinyasa instructor so it was nice to take a class for a change. The instructor does talk too much however.

Excellent! I am not a side crow girl, but love 1/2 moons. I value the dharma re: simplicity interwoven through the class, and the reminder that this path can reveal what beauty already exists within. Thank you!

I did the 30m version. Nice elementary savasana. Had all the essentials and clear cues. Other than tripod headstand if you chose, I felt course was advanced beginner level.

Thanks Dave

This is a great class! It is slower paced with basic asanas and variations for levels and a nice heart-opening sequence toward the end. I think it would be a nice morning yoga practice. Dave is a super cool teacher with good cueing, messaging and a sense of humor. Not too much chatty filler. I m not familiar with Baptiste Power Yoga, so I can t comment how this class aligns with that style.

I did the 60-minute version of this class. A lot of holding poses in the beginning - very slow and I didn t *love* holding them so long, but understand the yoga lesson (practice) of being OK with uncomfortable situations.
About 30 mn through the pace picked up and finished with a lot of chatturangas (I feel my shoulders the next day).
I disagree with a comment about the instructor "shouting." I think the cueing was very good without distracting chatter. The speaker volume level on the microphone needed digital "normalizing" to make it level across this entire program, but that is a technical production concern to address. It did not stop me from following the cueing and enjoying the class.
Overall a very good class if you don t mind starting very slow and holding poses longer than normal until reaching the more flow-based practice starting about halfway into the 60 minute program.

Good instruction, 45 minute class gets through essential openers, twists (optional half crow), good balancing poses (tree, eagle, half moon), optional inversions (head stand, shoulder stand, wheel) and Sun As. However, I am not sweating at all. I am warm, but not hot.

Beginner power flow due to pace. The poses are all there, but moved way too slow for power, until the floor series which was paced perfectly and good asanas. Too many chattarunguas (sp) at the beginning w/o any shoulder openings....

dave farmer 60- minute yoga 3 Baptiste Power Vinyasa:as someone who has only done Baptiste Level 1 and occsinally Level 2 -- 1/2 hour routines -I enjoyed the flow sequences and was challenged. Will do again ! A good first experience with yoga download!

Thanks for a sweaty and transformative class, Dave!

Wow. I have been craving a class like this! Decided on this instead of a long run as it started to storm. I am so glad I did. This was a sweaty class, and great mental work for me, and I feel thoroughly mentally refreshed and relaxed. The class had all the poses I love and all the poses I, shall we say, need to practice liking ;) Flow and longer holds seemed to change just when I started getting to a point where my mind suggested strongly I d take a rest.
I will definitely do this one again!

What a wonderful class! I did the 30 minute class in combination with Dawnelle s Core Yoga at suggestion of another reviewer. What a combination!!! Definitely broke a sweat with both. I agree with others that Dave is a fantastic instructor and I will look for more classes from him in the future.

Great power yoga class. I love when instructors offer variations for poses, and I think Dave s teaching style is accessible.

I really like this class. One comment only really annoys me -- when he talks about looking cute in your yoga outfit. But I ll overlook it because otherwise it is so good, and I like the way he ties the practice into how we live our lives.

I like his talking - he made me laugh more than once! and all the variations prove this to be valuable routine to return to. He encouraged me to keep going when I didn t exactly want to. Thanks, Dave!

simple, basic movements with a nice blend of power and stretch.

This is what I ve been looking for since becoming a subscriber to yogadownload! This is similar to the yoga class I regularly attend: challenging and energizing and relaxing. Holding the poses longer is where I find the challenge. Chair twist, crescent lunge, warrior 2. I did not find the instructor s talking to be distracting. It was encouraging and helpful. I like to learn about how practicing yoga can translate in life off the mat. I appreciated his lighthearted approach. I look forward to trying more of his classes.

Dave Farmer is an awesome instructor. I have done many classes on YDL and I find that his classes are the most enjoyable. Thank you YDL.

Just an awesome class. Simple but challenging. A great workout from a teacher with a fun attitude. I feel stronger AND calmer after an hour with Dave Farmer!

Great class like other power yoga or vinyasa flow classes I ve taken at northen Ca studios. There are options to build the intensity. The music during shavasana is a little cheesey and not relaxing though.

loved it - especially the sense of humor!

This was a great class. Good cues and a nice flow mixed with some really long holds to kick your butt. The best practice I have tried from yoga download yet.

Dave was a great instructor helping me with my breathing and correct positions. His instruction was very helpful. I was quite impressed when he did a hand stand! Something i will work out to certainly!

Dave is such a fabulous teacher and i always enjoy his classes! i can always count on a good challenge, encouragement to back off if i need to, and always finish feeling refreshed, strong, calm and focused.

I m a fan! Rather than finding the chatter distracting I found it helped me concentrate and focus during the more difficult poses. In fact the audio was quite poor and I could barely hear Dave at times. This class was really challenging but with the right amount of stretches and flows to balance it out and I really appreciate how different variations are offered to different levels. This class is a keeper!

I was a bit worried yet curious about other reviews stating there was "chatter" however I found that Dave s talking really helps me stay present and not let my mind wander especially during the longer classes. He even got my on again off again sister practicing more regularly because of his humor and approach.

The 60 minute flow has a good combination of flowing repetitions and long holds. I was surprised to break a good sweat. I enjoyed this class and will add it to my rotation.

Dave offers an excellent 60 minute class. However, being a huge fan of Baptiste yoga and taking quite a bit of live classes, I have to say that the amount of chatter that Dave portrays through this class is very distracting to the actual yoga practice. More often than not, I found myself thinking "Dave, just SHUT UP!" It is very hard to practice when you have mindless chatter going on. His humor, tho enjoyable AT TIMES should be just that...at minimal. More instruction, less mindless chatter next time, please. Because of this reason, I will not be utilizing this particular track as much as I had anticipated and planned to. I was looking to use this particular track 3x a week on my off-instudio days but with the amount of chatter, i m only going to be able to tolerate it once a week. Aside from that, I found the flow and practice to be quite enjoyable and I did have an awesome workout. Please, Dave, make a 90-minute class but please keep the chatter to a minimum.

My husband and I do the 45 minute video at least once a week and love it. We love his humor and style of teaching; it makes me smile and focus on what s important in these exercises. We recently tried the 60 minute version thinking it wouldn t be a problem, but it kicked our butts, we had some serious problems keeping up which we loved. So now our goal is to be able to do the 60 min version. This is definitely a workout that will challenge you.

Really enjoyed the class. Great pace, nice instruction with a great variety of simple through to challenging poses. More videos like this please. Thanks Dave.

Loved the 60 minute class! It was the perfect diversity I was looking for after a few weeks of the same vinyasa flows. This was the first class in a long time that I was not constantly checking the time to see how long I had to go, or how far I was into the class. I highly recommend this class for anyone looking to change up their current routine!

Power, yes! But with stillness while flowing. Dave, have to say this is a FAVE. Yep..for those of you who want "power and a workout", but all the magic of that big push of health that yoga brings to the body. Thanks Dave for this gem.

What a great class! I ve only just started using Yoga Download, but having done this class i m now hooked. Brings you gently into the class, and enables you to challenge your self as much as your able to that day. Flows really well and he keeps it light and cheerful through out - very important. Thank you!

Great class, great teacher! Pushes you physically, spiritually, emotionally, mentally. More Dave Farmer, please!

At first, I was skeptical about the instructor because I thought his tone of voice and humor would be distracting. I did the practice (45 min) anyway and genuinely enjoyed it--I agree that his dialogue was natural and his cues were exactly what I needed. The practice was challenging and there were plenty of opportunities for me to push myself or take it easy. I also had some problems with the audio at some points, but they weren t distracting.

I am a YogaDownload yogi who would go to live classes more if they were cheaper! Listening to this class felt like going to a real yoga class - it wasn t scripted, there were a few natural jokes (I think that the people who think he jokes too much are looking for a more spiritual class) and I felt like he was right here in my living room with me helping me through the movements.
That said, I think that the class starts a bit slow with a few flows. I was waiting for the "work" to begin and after the opening flows things definitely move faster. I feel like this is a good middle of the road class to have - some challenges, but over all a decent 45 minute practice.

Exactly what I was looking for. Loved it and Dave is great!
By Dinah Collins | Friday, February 25, 2011
Usually his classes are very rigorous, so I figured the 20 minute version would be paced the same way. Unfortunately, it was distilled to one warrior 1 and warrior 2 pose and then went right into the ending pigeon pose sequence. I guess I will have to download the longer classes if I want more of a challenge.

I certainly love a great sense of humor, but I found Dave s joking a bit too excessive for my practice. For me, it was distracting. I have participated in classes where laughter was an enjoyable part, but it didn t become the focal point. Just my opinion. I couldn t get into a nice open focused state or flow when I felt my attention was constantly being asked to pay attention to the funny imagery he was creating. Sorry Dave! I m sure you have a lot to offer to others! :)

Good class, but the sound quality on the video needs to be better. I had the volume on my computer up all the way and it was still hard to hear.

I have to say that I love Dave Farmer, he is funny and makes the classes a blast. He is good to tell us to do what we can and let that be ok. I laugh at his remarks about Hatha yoga, one of my favorites for rejuvination but he is great and the workout is wonderful, Keep up the good work Dave.

This is a good vigorous yoga class. Lots of long holds, which I like, and challenging asanas. Options are given and demonstrated to make the class easier or harder as you desire. Lots of moving through the plank-hover-up dog-down dog vinyasa will leave your arms feeling like jelly.
