I took the 20 minutes class today. I like the simple yoga practice. I feel good. Thank you.

loved this classic jivamukti flow

The exercises are tough and the instructor seems more interested in showing off her student s talents than teaching.

It was harder than I expected, but I feel good after taking this class!

This does feel like an all levels class at all. I took the one hour version and was disappointed to find the warm up pratapana to simply be sun salutations, rather than the 6 spinal movements. The teacher seems lovely and the timing is comfortable, for me it lacked creativity and especially lacked the spirituality I was hoping the practice would be infused with more richly.

Nice class. I look forward to trying the longer versions of it. :)

Pretty good flow. I wish it had a little more of a sweat going on but I am an athlete so it take a bit more for me. It was nice and relaxing with a bit of a workout so I am pleased. She has a nice voice and wasn t too chatty.

I did the 20 min version & sadly it is the 1st class on yogadownload that I didn t enjoy. Lots of talking at the beginning is ideal in a longer class, but took up too much time. One basic sun salutation then into a sun salutation with half moon then into shoulder stand. Lots of people would get injuries doing this. You can tell that the original class has been modified to fit other time lengths. Much better to just design a class to fit one time as people miss out on the counter poses which are beneficial. I will however try the longer class, but this has put me off. I understand that 20 mins is a short practice, but there are other 20 min classes on here that give an all round short workout. Sorry, but I had to give an honest review.

Nice class overall. It never ceases to amaze me, however, how yoga teachers can mislead the public with erroneous information on basic physiology. The thyroid gland has absolutely nothing to do with serotonin levels in the body. I had a good giggle though. Laughter yoga!

Great class... loved the explanation during shoulder stand. A cue for lowering the legs and protecting the back would have been beneficial to people with back issues.

Nice class. I am really sore after a long hike yesterday so so of this I could not do. I will have to try it again.

this was a nice, clean flow. she gave good, clear instructions, and held each pose for an appropriate amount of time. I worked up a decent sweat!
I really liked that she used 3 different sun salutations to warm up. I may do more of that in my personal practice.
I m sure I ll do this class again!

Excellent Jivamukti class. Challenging. Good workout! Yet relaxed at the end!

I like that this class covers a lot of fun, challenging poses without being a very intense workout. I bought the 45 min. class and it went by very fast, so I have to say that there are a lot of challenging poses with a short warm-up, which can be dangerous. I would recommend the 60 min. one.

This review is for the 30 minute version of this class. The class was really hurried. To be at half moon 8 minutes in and then wheel at 15 minutes? Not safe and way too rushed. Only 10 minutes of standing work and the last 20 on the floor. 5 whole minutes of the practice are devoted to a shoulder stand. Maybe the longer classes are better but this was not a helpful practice.

I really liked the flow of this class.
By jacksonn | Tuesday, October 8, 2013
Way to fast!! Some people can t move that fast. Her directions were much to hurried whereas I thought yoga was a practice where you stayed with your breath. The chanting at the beginning didn t help at all and I would strong.y recommend no one to try this practice.

Love this class - more please?

Too much talking in the beginning. Don t need that much philosophy; sounded preachy. Frequent mispronouncing of sanskrit terms as well.

I tried the 60 min version.
A very "classic" class, moving through rather fast sun salutations in the beginning to create heat and then giving you time to work on some more challenging poses.
I agree 100% with the other reviews that you need to be properly warmed up for wheel. Like with many other Yoga Download classes, I would love to see a 90 min-version of this one. And in general: More Jivamukti p-l-e-a-s-e!!!

The 60 minute was a really great class, and one of my favorites so far. It contained my favorite inversions and backbends (wheel, shoulder stand, and headstand) and had just enough of a warm-up flow to prepare for them. I also love that the teacher gave a history and basis for the style. I can see why others may not have been warmed up for less than 60 minute versions.. the 60 minute was done well and went by fast so I d recommend not shortening the class.

Awesome Teacher & great class! More please!
By TracyT | Friday, February 17, 2012
Completely agree with JD s comments - the 30 minute class does not warm you up enough for attempting wheel. Its a potentially dangerous suggestion for someone new to the pose. I ll have to try a longer version.
By TwinFlame | Wednesday, February 8, 2012
It seems to be missing a warmup and goes right in which not only was unexpected, does not bode well for me. I had to stop after 15 minutes from just not feeling it to search for something with a more conducive flow.
By martinaj | Tuesday, February 7, 2012
This was really great! I d definitely buy more if they were put up. I d loved the pace, the challenging inversions and the encouragement for fancier transitions!! I wouldn t recommend it for a complete beginner but once you have some experience you d love this class.

I tried the 30 minute class and while I suspect the longer versions are better, she moved entirely too quickly into advanced postures without proper warm-up. In the 30 minute version she references an earlier bow pose that did not happen and she suggests a wheel after only a few sun salutations. My body was nowhere near warm enough to go into full backbend, though it is an important and easeful part of my longer deeper practices. I can t recommend an instructor who has clearly taken a longer practice and simply shortened it without attention to the sequencing of poses. I stopped the practice at the suggestion of wheel (about 15 minutes in) so I can t comment on the remaining 15 minutes.

Amazing class. A good mix of flow and stillness; I like getting my heart rate up while also being able to fully experience alignment & intensity in the asanas. Love the challenge of headstand & wheel (with useful modifications). I felt such a rush of calm and peace during savasana. Fantastic teacher!

What a great class! I loved the way Casey incorporates the Jivamukti theory into the class. All of the positions were ones that you would know if you ve done yoga before. What an awesome way to start the day!
By Chinoiseries | Wednesday, June 8, 2011
Casey has a nice and clear voice, her instructions are also easy to follow. Some people may however feel that her sun salutation variations move too fast, but I quite liked it (i.e. made it easier to build heat).
Do bear in mind that you may want to pause the audio/video for enough time in headstand and shoulderstand. Casey moves really fast through those two asanas. I m an intermediate student and for me, the only challenging part was the three Wheels.
If you want to sweat more and need a bigger challenge, I recommend YogaDownload s 60 min. Power Vinyasa Flows and Core sessions.

Best class ever!! I do yoga with my friends frequently and this is the one they request to do the most. It s a wonderful mix of all the good stuff (headstand, shoulder stand, etc). It s not too easy, but it s not crazy hard either. It s a really good balance. I agree with another reviewer: more Jivamukti please!!!
By Claudia | Thursday, January 27, 2011
Love it !!!! Want more Jivamukit =)

This was one of my favorite classes so far. I did the 45 minute class and I liked that it incorporated multiple balances and inversions. I would love to see a 90 minutes Jivaumukti class available, but I will definitely try the 60 minute class soon. I did find a few parts hard to follow, or recognized that they would be hard to follow if you didn t know the Sanskrit for some poses. Its always a good idea to browse the pose guide ahead of time though.

I really appreciated this class combination of foundational yoga poses with the encouragement to press to my edge. Enhanced with the reminder to bring an intention with you to the mat, this class is a challenge and an inspiration- I enjoyed beginning my day with it. Thank you.
By Clare Polencheck | Thursday, February 4, 2010
Beginning with a chant and specific offering and intention, the focus of the practice in my mind was immediately set apart from the power vinyasa style I’m used to. I can see that a more unfamiliar practitioner might appreciate more of an explanation of Jivamukti prior to beginning a chant or a practice specialized in this style of yoga, but Casey shared much of the Jivamukti philosophy throughout the practice. As far as the physical practice, I really enjoyed it. It was flowing, and well cued, and offered a lot of heart openers. I appreciated the use of Sanskrit and English for describing the asanas. Casey has a gentle and beautiful voice.

I m surprised that the previous reviewer thought this class was easy to follow. Casey does provide some interesting information about the poses and make an effort to go beyond the physical, but it was difficult to gain any benefit from the class due to the lack of clarification about the poses. I do classes from this site daily and normally I don t need the pose guides or additional help but with this class I was completely lost in the middle. The flow was also much too fast at the beginning; she had us breathing like marathon runners! Maybe this is not a good flow for a short class.

If you want more than a mere physical workout, you will love this class. Casey does a great job in transforming the intuitive feel of a real class into her video. And didn t you always want to know why the fish pose is called fish pose?

This is the perfect style of class for anyone seeking greater personal, spiritual and yoga growth. It is incredibly easy to follow AND challenging at the same time. I absolutely love these classes! They are well worth every penny!
