Wise Mentor Meditation: This particular audio only class seems to be more of an instructional guide to go ahead and either do an unguided meditation on your own with these tips as as loose outline for your unguided meditation: "You ll imagine someone providing you with encouragement and wisdom. This maybe someone you know or knew, a famous historical figure or someone you wish to meet. Although the wisdom that he/she imparts may not be true to what he/she may actually tell you the point of this meditation is to access your core inner resources of wisdom and creativity while experiencing emotional support from another. Begin a mindfulness meditation. When you re ready, envision yourself in this person s natural environment seeking counsel as a humble student." It is under 4 minutes long, so one probably isn t usually expecting much from that kind of length And the class, I m finding, seems to be a collection of guides to unguided meditation exercises.
I enjoyed this short meditation. The voice was soothing and clear. The visualizations presented were enjoyable. I especially liked visualizing the swirling clouds of various colors.
I tried to do the hopefulness meditation but had to bail on it because the sports metaphors were very distracting. One minute I m in a swirling cloud of color, the next I m in the fourth quarter with 30 seconds to go and less than 5 yards to the endzone. (Not the exact phrasing, but that s where my mind went. Hopeful, maybe. Relaxing, no.) If that s something you re into, then it might not be so bad. I don t know if the others are sportball-y too, but I m not curious enough to try more.
Amazing and transendent. Philosophical but not so much as to distract you from your personal awareness. One of the best I ve enjoyed in my meditation journey.
The River of Time meditation is wonderful.
WOW.
I did the fertile mind meditation today. It was so nice that I did it a second time. What a soothing and wonderful voice! I ll be back tomorrow to check out the other meditations.
