Did as part of YDL 24 Day Awakening Challenge, have done before but it has been a long time and don t think I ever reviewed. Excellent hip openers, like others said, I would not describe as intermediate, and should list blocks as a prop since used or suggested a couple times. But a wonderful class. Feel great after. Definitely won t wait so long to do again!

This was great; didn t realize hips needed this! Thanks.

Day 23 of the challenge. Challenging hip opener. I will definitely have to do this one more.

I have chronically sore hips and really appreciate this class. I ve done it several times and think it s excellent!

Nice sequence before my run this morning although I m sure it would be good after a run as well. I enjoyed the barrel rolling and finding the grain of my hip joint! - not thought of it that way before. I did find the ending rather abrupt and expected a little more movement before savasana. Wouldn t have described this as intermediate. Really liked Ashley s voice and instructions.

great

Really good stretching class, just what I was looking for the day after a long run. Minus one star because the stretch she did around minute 14, sitting in a W shape, is not good for your knee ligaments/ACL - I wish yoga teachers would stop teaching it!

Good but too short.
By Helen | Thursday, September 17, 2020
This isn t vinyasa and certainly isn t a level three intensity. Not what I was looking for today

Love this class! It s great to pair with Ashley s shoulder opening sequence.

I have very tight hips, glute issues and tight hamstrings. This felt AMAZING after a long day of work

Thank you Ashley for this practice - delicious and restorative after my long distance run.

Great Class! My hips are so tight. This was perfect for my morning hip opener. Found some new pockets of stretch that I had never experienced. Thank you!

This felt super good!

I have always had super tight hips and was delighted to find these great therapeutic stretches that I ve never seen, or seen put together this way. Also love the instructor s calm voice and deep insights. Wonderful part of my day, and I ll definitely come back to this class!

Great, deep hip stretches. Not a workout in itself.
By SaffronB | Friday, September 23, 2016
I love this, such great stretches. I would love to see more classes by this teacher.

I liked that the class included dynamic hip movements as well as many hip stretches. I would recommend warming yourself up in some way prior to starting. I felt I could have opened my hips even more if I had been warmer first. Will definitely do this class again.

Short and sweet, so perfect for when I am short on time but still need to fit in some hip opening. Not particularly sweat-inducing. That combo makes this great for a lunch time yoga session at the office. Great explanations during the practice and reminders of little things - like keeping your feet flexed, spreading your toes, etc. Long corpse pose at the end. Sometimes I m in the mood for a long savasana, sometimes I m not.

just perfect. My low back was aching and I thought my psoas might have been to blame. After a bike ride, I wanted something quick to stretch it out, and this was the perfect length, perfect sequence, and reminded me how my emotions might also be playing in to my low back pain. Great class!

Good quick class that really addresses the hips. Thanks

I love how Ashley talks to us during the class, asking us to check in with our emotional wave and bringing our attention to how this is serving us towards self love. I felt I was in a class promoting embodiment as well as my emotional state. I prefer the body-mind connect over just "doing the correct posture/next". This is the only way I can enjoy yoga. Thank you Ashley for leading me to truly connecting through yoga

What a great low impact workout for opening the hips and lower back. My arms felt a nice burn too, but the pace was perfect. I have a back injury so this was a really great workout for me. I look forward to challenging myself and seeing how my body changes as I repeat this class time and time again. I only wish there was a 10-15 minute longer version to supplement the 25 min class. Who doesn t love options?

This is a great class. I have been doing in at least twice a week for three or four weeks now, and can see a significant increase in the mobility of my right hip, which was very tight. Sukasana used to be torture, but I can see improvements every week! Looking forward to doing Sukasana without a block, and with both knees on the ground!

I have a spinal cord injury and lots of neck and back problems as a result of a car accident 19 years ago -- resulting in CRAZY tight hips, back pain, and sciatic pain (and back surgery soon, in early 2016). This practice literally makes my hips tingle, I love it. My husband and I both do actually! (He also has back problems, tight hips, and sciatic pain - we re a pair! ;) )
I love Ashley s demonstration of how she works into the Pigeon poses, it helped me heaps. I would highly recommend this short and sweet, but HIGHLY effective, hip-focused class.

Aaahhh! Awesome feeling after class.Thank you Ashley!

My lower back was troublesome and this sequence helped. Will keep this in my permanent portfolio.

Great routine. Felt like it went really fast despite holding poses.

Hip opening magic- perfect short class for hips after too much sitting.
By claire shepherd | Sunday, September 20, 2015
This really hit the spot! I learnt a more effective way of getting into pigeon pose too!
By dlapor03 | Tuesday, May 26, 2015
This class does exactly what it says it does. My hips feel much better. Thanks!
By lisa | Monday, March 23, 2015
I liked this sequence a lot for what it was- a short hip opening sequence. The instructor seems genuinely kind, which is really nice. :) Also, I second, third, (fourth?) what others were saying about the ease in which she leads you into eka pada raja kapotasana. I can think of a dozen other classes that were at least twice as long but not nearly as effective in opening up my hips. Thanks!

This class was amazing! I needed a shorter video to really stretch my hips, and this was perfect. There isn t much yang action happening, and yet, by the pigeon pose at the end of the class, I was able to get into the pose more deeply than ever before. Ashley Turner must be some kind of miracle worker. I m definitely coming back to this one again.

The poses are hard to see and I struggled to understand some of her prompts. She recommends using a block or two which isn t in the description.

I m having a lot of tightness in my right hip area. When I follow this class it gives me so much relief. Excellent thank you.

Great video for the pre-holiday challenge! Ashley is so encouraging and positive, just love her energy in this video!

Nothing special here. Cues are a bit hard to follow especially when you can t see the screen due to the pose. I thought the "sit Indian style" comment in the beginning was off-putting as well.

Loved this class! Ashley is a favorite and I just LOVE the inclusive way she teaches yoga. And my hips are so much happier after this class. I will really try to do it at least twice a week!

As a runner and a biker, this was a fantastic class to get my tight hips open. Will definitely make it a staple in my yoga practice.
By inkyslay | Wednesday, May 14, 2014
would like to build a little more heat before pigeon, and shivassanah came too soon. But great teacher..just wanted a little more, or slightly longer.
By Crystal | Wednesday, March 12, 2014
Excellent! Felt amazing after, and I feel a lot of relief in my hips. Gets you sweating a bit too, despite it being a short workout!
By Chemmom1 | Sunday, February 23, 2014
I loved this sequence. I am an older runner and over the past year or two my hips have really gotten tight. This class not only did some of the poses that I try to do often, but added some movement stretches to grouping. I feel much better than at the start of class. I will do this short class often and use these tools. Happy hips!

This felt wonderful nurturing and decadent after a day spent doing all sorts of things around the house. I will definitely be revisitng this class as well as checking out others by this teacher!
By Diana | Tuesday, January 28, 2014
Really felt the hip opening but was expecting a few more poses. Would love to have more poses and a bit longer class. Really hoping this will help my tight hips loosen up a bit during these first stages of pregnancy!

Great hip opener and even helped with some upper back pain I was having.
By yogapazzo | Thursday, January 23, 2014
Nice class, love working my hips especially after a run, feeling great!

Awesome! Great for first thing in the morning.

Hip opening classes are a really good idea and I d love to see more of them! It was also my first class from this teacher and I really liked her style. I took out one star because I would have like to see longer versions of this class; I don t feel like 25 minutes is enough to really enjoy this one.
By TiaRae | Saturday, January 18, 2014
Great video! The teacher is very in depth and gives lots of information, but not annoyingly so. Great poses and options for ability level, definitely feeling the opening!
By Mary Fincher | Thursday, January 2, 2014
This routine is amazing for opening hips! I felt very restored and open at the end of practice in mind and body. Ashley is a great teacher and explains everything so well. I learned so much from her in this 25 minute practice.

Love this!! Perfect for those who sit at desks, runners, etc.

Wonderful class, great for the hips!
By Josie Cline | Saturday, October 5, 2013
I cannot say WOW enough. I woke up so achey all over knowing it was legs and hips but dreading a slow hatha. I instantly forgot about pace and was coached through new moves and received more knowledge about the poses themselves. I wish we could get this same class just a bit longer on each portion. As soon as we went to shivasa I felt a release and tingle I have not felt with any other class, not just in my legs and hips but also through my whole body. Now a must in my weekly routine.

As a runner with a desk job experiencing lower back pain, I m looking for classes to stretch and lengthen my tight hips, quads, IT band, etc. This was a great class for that. I could feel the opening right away as we started, and now, several hours later, I can still feel the expansion in my hip flexors. I definitely recommend this class, and only wish it was longer.
By Mandy | Tuesday, September 3, 2013
Great short class. Stretching my hips has really helped alleviate my lower back pain. I really recommend this class :)
By Kelley Griffin | Tuesday, August 20, 2013
I really enjoyed the deep and relaxing hip opening, clear instructions and good yoga guidance to get the most out of the practice.
