2-Week Grounding and Gratitude Challenge

Day 1 - 2-Week Grounding and Gratitude Challenge

Day 1 - 2-Week Grounding and Gratitude Challenge

Welcome to Day 1 of our 2-Week Grounding and Gratitude Challenge!

Monday, November 11th

We’re thrilled to have you join us for these next two weeks as we explore the power of yoga, mindfulness, and gratitude together. Over the next 14 days, you’ll be practicing daily yoga, designed to ground you, reduce stress, and bring a deeper sense of gratitude into your life.

Each day, you’ll have access to two class options - one suitable for beginners, and a more challenging option - that you can do anytime, anywhere, making it easy to fit into your schedule.

This challenge is all about helping you cultivate a strong, centered foundation before the busy holiday season begins. Practicing yoga every day allows you to tap into a routine of calm, focus, and strength—both physically and mentally. By dedicating time each day, you’ll be setting the tone for a mindful, balanced end to the year.

Remember, you’re also invited to comment on our daily posts (comment section is below) to enter for a chance to win one of four exciting prize packages! Be sure to also say hello and let us know where you're joining the challenge from!

Let's get started and make these next two weeks transformational.

**IMPORTANT** - remember, you will need a free account on YogaDownload to access the free challenge classes. The free account doesn't commit you to any future obligation whatsoever. Please be sure to quickly create one now if you don't have one already.

Here are today's class options:

Open Your Heart to Gratitude with Elise Fabricant

30 min class

Level:  All Levels | Intensity: Everyday Namaste

In this heart-opening class we will invite in gratitude along with our physical practice of backbending. To cultivate length and lower back health in our backbends, we learn to unwind the front of hips and pelvis with lunge variations. Moving on to shoulder opening, we pay special attention to the musculature between the shoulder blades. Finally, this class culminates in supine backbends that both energize and soften the heart center. Appropriate for all levels, this class will calm the seasoned practitioner and challenge the new one.

Metamorphosis Flow: Taking Flight with Kristin Gibowicz

40 min class

Level: Intermediate | Intensity: You'll Feel It

Metamorphosis is the journey from caterpillar to butterfly. All that the caterpillar was and all that the butterfly will be are contained in the cocoon, but one form must relinquish itself that another might emerge. We will practice emergence physically, mentally and spiritually in this vinyasa class. Be prepared to be challenged through balancing postures. It takes time, patience, stillness, suffering, before you spread your wings and begin to fly. Can you be okay with where you on in the process of becoming?

**you only need to choose one class**

**If you're feeling in the mood for something different you can choose any of our free classes on our site (or any other class you'd like!). The most important thing is to show up and get on your mat!

Share your challenge experience in the comments section below (and also say hello and where you're from since it's day 1!) and/or in a post or story on IG or Facebook (be sure to tag @yogadownload) for a chance to win a prize package! Each comment and post/story counts as one entry.

Hello from Orlando, Florida! I took Elise’s class yesterday and it was just what I needed. Been feeling a lot of stress and anxiety and this was the perfect space to open my heart and my mind.

Back for another challenge! I took Elise’s Open Your Heart to Gratitude class today and the opening up of the chest (and heart) was wonderful. Speaking of gratitude, I am so grateful that you continue to offer these challenges. I love the physical and mental challenge and the sense of community. Thank you!

Metamorphosis flow was great! Just the right amount of challenge, stretch and fun. I will definitely come back to this class and try to do the peacock pose. I will get there at some point.

Thank you for another challenge! I love how it gets me back to my mat, which I need desperately. I need the emphasis on gratitude, too. What a fantastic time of year to do it. I enjoyed Elise’s class today. Joining from southern Utah. 😁

Hello, I’m Veronica and I’m happy to be doing this challenge. I hope it helps me get back on being consistent after k got hurt and couldn’t work out for a few weeks. I enjoyed Elise’s class

It's been over a year since being on YogaDownload and I have to say - I'm so happy to be participating in this challenge!
Elise is a great instructor and my hips are feeling gratitude! Bring on Day 2!

Good evening from Chicago! I'm always so grateful for these challenges from Yoga Download. They motivate me to find community and to find my mat - especially on the days when I struggle with finding time. Each time I finish a yoga class, I'm glad to have made the time to be on my mat, and today's class with Christen was no different - her class helped me find grace after a crazy Monday. Perfect blend of challenge and centering.

I did Elise’s class tonight. It was lovely. My shoulders feel much more relaxed and it was a great start to this challenge!

Hello from Indianapolis! I chose Elise's class this evening and it was a great way to unwind from the day. The cues were great and she has such a calming voice. Namaste.

Avatar  Bek S 21 hours ago

Well. I somehow linked to the wrong challenge, so I ended up doing one of Christen Bakken's classes. I definitely felt that one! I'm on the right challenge page now so I'm looking forward to Day 2!

Avatar  Margaret 21 hours ago

Hello! This is my first attempt with yoga. I'm branching out and trying something new!

Avatar  Carrie 21 hours ago

I've been dealing with a knee injury for over 8 months and am waiting for surgery. I can't stand not doing something. So with my own modifying for my limits, Elise's Open the Heart class was great. Did some fun arm movements I have never done in yoga before.

Avatar  Rebecca 21 hours ago

I’m making my way back to yoga after a long time away, so having some basic options available is great. I hope it all comes back to me soon. Today, I picked the class with Elise & it wasn’t easy for me, but it was doable. See all of you tomorrow!

Avatar  Chris 21 hours ago

Elise's class was a good way to start both this challenge and the day for me today.

Avatar  Sabrina Reynolds 21 hours ago

I did Elise’s Open Hour Heart to Gratitude class. It was a great first class for this challenge and on this day. I’m excited to be part of this challenge! Thank you Elise. Namaste 🧘🏻‍♀️

Hello from Alaska! Open Your Heart to Gratitude with Elise Fabricant was a nice relaxing practice. I appreciate Elise's detailed descriptions in the common poses. There is always a small detail to revisit regardless the number of times you've practiced that pose.

Avatar  Callye 22 hours ago

For the first class of the challenge I chose Elise's Open Your Heart to Gratitude. I am so excited for this challenge, need to make yoga a daily habit!

Avatar  Terry 22 hours ago

I took Kristin’s class today. Great instruction for a fairly difficult sequence. I have not done or had peacock introduced in a class before….it was fun to workshop something new! Kristin’s drama talk allowed for great visualization in savasana. Thank you!

Avatar  iwritecreate 22 hours ago

I just completed the Open Your Heart to Gratitude class for day 1! It really helped me release a lot of the tension I was feeling in my body. So grateful for this! 🩷

Avatar  haleymarie 22 hours ago

I'm currently in my last year of pharmacy school, and have unintentionally fallen away from a consistent practice. I excited to use this challenge as a way to get back into the movement that I love.

Today's class was so needed today as I have been pretty stressed out and just off in general. The backbends in Elise's class felt so good and are giving me life. I didn't even realize how much I needed that little boost of joy.

Avatar  Sally Walker 23 hours ago

I did the shortest free class and it was exactly what I needed to begin to get back to yoga, which in the past was a huge part of my life.

Avatar  Katie 23 hours ago

I tried Elise's class to start off the challenge. My heart definitely feels more open and warm and I'm truly grateful for that!

Avatar  Trice 1 days ago

I did Kristen’s metamorphosis and it felt so good. I had a very stressful day and wasn’t in the mood to get a 40 min yoga session but did anyways and oh boy was I happy I did!! It stretched and calmed me. A great start to this challenge.

Avatar  Susan Wong 1 days ago

I love Kristin’s class which was challenging but not too hard the first day of challenge. Her cues were clear and I was able to finish it without looking at the screen. Thank you!

Avatar  Linda Valazza 1 days ago

I tried Kristin's Metamorphosis Flow today. What a great way to start off a challenge. I think I will give it a try at the end of the 2 weeks to see if my balance has improved any. I loved the challenge and I certainly wasn't bored!

Avatar  DBeer 1 days ago

I had a hard time getting access to the free challenge.
The yoga flow was a good practice I was unable to do the challenging peacock but I tried.

I loved the message from Kristin’s practice that good things happen while you’re in the cocoon phase. Much needed words and strengthening practice today

Good morning! In the spirit of the challenge-I enjoy the theme as well as instructors I don’t often select. Elise’s class was a nice start to the day-gentle effective stretch that released tightness in hips and shoulders.
See you tomorrow 🙏🏼

Avatar  Pauline 1 days ago

Another challenge! YAY! I love these challenges. Always finding new classes and enjoy knowing that others around the world are also taking it on. So I just finished Elise’s heart opening class and it was a gentle way to start the day. Whenever I am facing challenging times I always come back to gratitude and what I am thankful for. Today - it’s embracing this challenge!

I did Elise's class and enjoyed the heart openers and shoulder stretches

Avatar  Andrea Ward 1 days ago

I finished Kristin's class today. It was a great class that had several challenging poses, but not overly difficult. I will admit that I stayed in Sphinx and didn't try peacock!

Thanks for a great start to the day!

Avatar  Mara Zobrist 1 days ago

I did the Open Your Heart class and it is so joyful to start the day with gratitude!

Avatar  Jennie 1 days ago

I was feeling tired this morning so did Elise's class. It was a great, heart-opening, slow flow.

Avatar  Joinaz 1 days ago

I have done both of these before and love them both. Today I chose the class by Elise because I have been having issues w one shoulder and it was listed as all levels rather than intermediate. Still had to modify a few moves but overall felt great.

Avatar  Sue Ann 1 days ago

Thank you Elise. Great heart and hip openers. I am grateful for this challenge!

At almost 62, I'm finally adding yoga to my life. Made it through most of the workout.

I took Elise's class. The matador circles were new to me. Always great to start out a yoga challenge with something completely fresh!

Avatar  Vicky 1 days ago

Open your heart to gratitude help me relieve my back pain and tension. I have been horrible back pain because of poor posture and tension. I feel invigorated and relieved. I also was able to strengthen my upper body and arms. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Good Morning from Minneapolis, MN. Elise's class was a great way to start the day!

Avatar  ponttingley 1 days ago

After a weekend of travel, too much sitting on planes and in cars, I’m thrilled to get back to my yoga practice. Kristen’s metamorphosis class is just the thing to kick off the challenge here in northern New Hampshire!

Avatar  Beth 1 days ago

God morning from Western New York, USA. What a great way to start the day. I look forward to kickstarting my yoga practice with this challenge.

Avatar  Laura Elizabeth Holm 1 days ago

Not sure how I had missed this class from Elise before. I quite enjoyed it!

Avatar  aj 1 days ago

Grateful for another challenge. I made it part of the way through Kristin's class. I love the beginning sequence to bring ease into the tight parts of my upper back. Here in my part of Australia we are at the start of a week of storms.

Avatar  EmmaS 1 days ago

Day 1. I need this challenge/relief from a busy life! Unfortunately, I am also a bit injured (from yoga), so I must take it slow and modify. Elise's class was, therefore, the perfect start. I especially enjoyed opening up the front of the hips and reminding myself to be grateful. Life will never be better than it is right now. Greetings from a very grey Stockholm, Sweden.
