I felt challenged to my own inner and outer ability and strength. A little humor to lighten the mood did make me tip over once, but with laughter. I love the holds because those are the hardest for me. Thank you for reminding me to seek stillness but love where I am in all of my fidgetiness!

Dave Farmar is one of a kind. He is a truly loving, compassionate soul who doesn t take himself or the practice too seriously. His class is challenging and full of wisdom and opportunities to grow and transform. I personally love his style and the wisdom he shares. It isn t bad to be able to laugh at yourself, in my opinion. The sequences are beautiful and my spine feels like it s made of glitter and rainbows after this class. It is a beautiful gift to give yourself when you really want to go deeper.

I normally like Baptiste style power yoga but I can t stand listening to this guy. Besides from talking non-stop, he raises his voice and get s really loud from time to time. It s very annoying and disrupts your zen. I wish yoga download could find some better classes in this category.

It s tough. It s long. If that s what you want, do it! This is a seriously athletic class.

Unlike other reviewers, I don t find Dave s banter annoying. I don t think he talks anymore than other teachers. He just doesn t take himself so seriously.

This is the very first yogadownload.com class I took 3 years ago, and pretty much, the first yoga class, period, that I ever took. Talk about diving right in... it is a challenging flow! But, I stuck with it and enjoy coming back to this class from time to time when I want a workout. If I want to relax, I steer clear - it s a hard class and Dave s chatter isn t conducive to relaxing. I still would recommend it for those more advanced and/or wanting a little yoga butt-kicking. :-)

The audio should explain the poses better. My husband almost stomped on the laptop because he was getting so frustrated at not being able to follow along easily!
There are some really nice messages in there but the important stuff can be lost in the huge amount of chatter which is really distracting. The distraction is good when you are holding a difficult pose for a long time but not at the beginning when you are trying to centre yourself. The layout and length of the poses is really great and I love the length of this class.

Downloaded this class and followed the entire practice on three separate occasions. Back when I used to be able to afford classes, I d taken a slight variation of Baptiste due to its being taught at ambient temperatures. This teacher is better AND he is tougher. He goes into the chakras and talks about the secret of rocking the "Barbie Doll feet" - a little tough to do when I am managing orthopedic problems, but very therapeutic all the same.

This practice is quite a bit faster-paced than the sequencing that I innovated and normally do on my own, which borrows heavily from hatha and vinyasa yoga; and pilates. I am not very athletic at all, and so I do the practice that fits for me. I will occasionally do this one, too. Someone like me (I am NO Type-A) has to come to this practice, ready for this practice. A practice like this will amplify what I am feeling already. But I resonate with the teacher who understands foundational alignment, energy lines, and chakras. Dave Farmar does. Just because it s called Power Yoga, you don t have to be intimidated ... there is more than meets the eye here.

Objectively speaking, I gave the practice 4 and a half stars.

I downloaded this class with a friend in rural Nicaragua because I was craving to do some yoga and to sweat a bit. This class is the best class I ve found. I have been to thousands of hot yoga classes, but I always come back to this one. If you do this class everyday, you will be in great shape mentally and physically. My favorite quote, "How you do anything is how you do everything."

I appreciated this class and Farmar s expertise in achieving the poses. The class has a challenging and effective flow. Good encouragement to find your own space throughout the class. Farmar is especially good at helping me to realize how "uncomplicated" a pose can be...wallah, I am there. He also welcomed me to find a comfort level within the asanas along with recognizing the challenges and smiling with the humor. For me, his remarks often mirrored what I was thinking. This class, mixed with the other classes in this site, is helping me grow.

This is the first Yoga Download class that I really felt fully engaged in...like I was really at a class.

The fact that I don t have a studio, and the energy of people all around me and the smile of the teacher leaves a gap in my experience that I couldn t put my finger on until I took this class.

The instructor really recognizes that he is interacting through a new medium and really reaches through the speakers to engage you. He s funny, he has great instruction and great life insight without being to woo woo. He really encourages and knows the head games we play with ourselves.

At home, there is no peer pressure like you have at a live class. He creates that by getting into your head the same way the pressure of a class does.

I d like to see more teachers take this approach on Yoga Download.

The only downside is that it might be a little too much of a good thing. His witty banter is great, but I think the class would be improved with about 20% less of it.

I couldn t get through 10 minutes of it without wanting to tell the man to please shut up and let me actually "let something go." I made it to 7:30 and got up and deleted the file. It might be great for a true beginner, which I m not, but I don t not recommend this for "all levels" like he claimed.

i downloaded this class because i wanted to get a good workout, and that was definitely what i got! the pace was great, instructions were clear, and dave s encouragement helped keep me focused throughout the class. highly recommended!

I really enjoyed this class as I really enjoy the Baptiste style and 90 minute format (can we get more longer classes on yogadownload please!) I didn t mind his chatter as much as I expected to from the reviews and even found it helpful in parts. I d love to see Dave do another more challenging 90 minute Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga class!

There should be more 90 minute classes! I was reluctant to take this class at first, thinking 90 minute might be too tough, but I am so glad I did! It is a very challenging flow, but paced so that it is very doable, Dave Farmar cues are easy to follow and thorough. After the class I felt grounded and centered (and sweaty). I found his talking lightening and it helped me stay with the poses, but I could see that some people might react with aversion to it.

This class taught me a thing or two about myself. Can I just be ok where I am? Can I resist less?
The intensity definitely challenged me- and after I stopped resisting and "talking to myself" so much I went up into Half Moon on my weak side without even realizing it. It just happened.
Afterwards- my body felt really good, amazing opening, energy flowing.
Give yourself the gift of 75 uninterrupted minutes...it s so worth it.

I have really been enjoying doing yoga at home for the past few years. I am now even more excited to have found yogadownload.com. I took Dave Farmar s power yoga class and had a great experience. His voice tone and directions on doing each pose, made it easy to do his class without pictures to follow. I enjoy a good workout. Dave was challenging, yet I felt peace within. I am looking forward to taking more classes from Dave.Is there going to be more 90 min classes? I think an hour and a half makes a perfect class.

I myself find Dave's chatter hilarious and I have burst out laughing at least a couple times during this class. I personally think that laughter is GREAT during class, and it also helps you take things not so terribly seriously. As he says, "It's just a yoga class." In addition, I think there's wisdom behind it. Yoga is learning how to deal with stress by breathing through it. If I am in a pose that's challenging and the instructor is talking about something and seems to be forgetting I'm in that pose, it's stressful, and by learning to breathe through that, I am taking away something very valuable. So yes, I love this class and yes, I think the chatter is both funny and useful. I've done quite a few of Dave's podcast classes as well, and it's pretty easy to see that there's a method to his madness. I hope Yogadownload offers more of Dave's classes. He's a fantastic instructor.

This is an excellent class. And I found Dave`s banter inspiring and motivating. It is a challenging class and one that I try to do at least once a week; each time I take this class I find myself stronger and more centered.
